Scope of Work
The site was historically occupied by Huges Aircraft to test aircraft equipment from the 1950's - 1980's. The purpose of this project is to reduce subsurface concentrations of potential contamination remaining at the source location. Work included involved excavation and disposal of approx. 18,000 tons of soil, construction of a dewatering and treatment system to handle groundwater as the work will be below sea level. Installation of a perimenter trench with extraction wells, construction of an infiltration gallery, vapor vent system, backfilling and construction of an interim groundwater treatment system.
